Ji Earth (己土) — The Fertile Alluvial Garden Soil
“己土卑湿，中正蓄藏。不愁木盛，不畏水狂。火少火晦，金多金光。若要物旺，宜助宜帮。”Ji Earth is low-lying and moist, centered and richly receptive. It does not fear flourishing Wood, nor dread surging Water. Weak Fire is dimmed by it; abundant Metal is polished by it. To bring forth lush harvests, it welcomes warmth and support. — Di Tian Sui (滴天髓 · 天干论)
Ji (己) is Yin Earth—rich topsoil, terraced rice paddies, and potter’s clay. Unlike rigid Wu mountain rock, Ji Earth absorbs water, welcomes deep roots, and quietly transforms raw seeds into abundant harvests.
